Groups 2 & 3 (Healthy Controls):
- People who have no known problems or conditions affecting their adrenal glands, who would participate as healthy comparison participants during hormone-related testing
Group 4:
- People who have been found to have abnormal hormone production from the outer layer of their adrenal glands
Who may not be able to join:
Groups 2 & 3:
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who are unable to undergo medical imaging scans
- People who weigh more than 400 pounds (181 kg)
- People who are currently incarcerated
- People who are not able to provide their own consent to participate
- People who are currently taking steroids, the contraceptive pill, spironolactone, estrogen, androgen, progesterone, ACE inhibitors, ARBs (a type of blood pressure medication), or any supplements that act like hormones in the body
- People who have a known condition affecting their adrenal glands
Group 4:
- People who are currently pregnant
