Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with one of the following: low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm, pseudomyxoma peritonei, appendiceal cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen, or colorectal cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen
- People whose general health and ability to perform daily activities meets a minimum threshold (ECOG performance status below 3 — confirm with trial site)
- People whose cancer is considered suitable for surgery aimed at removing all visible disease
- People with a life expectancy of more than 3 months
- People whose heart, liver, kidneys, and bone marrow are functioning well enough to safely participate
- People who are able to understand the study and are willing to sign a written consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer has spread to areas outside the abdomen
- People who have lung metastases (cancer spread to the lungs) that have not been treated
- People who have cancer spread to the liver that cannot be removed by surgery or destroyed by ablation (a targeted procedure — confirm with trial site)
- People who have cancer that has spread to the brain
- People who have received chemotherapy or radiation therapy within the 4 weeks before entering the study
- People who still have significant ongoing side effects from previous cancer treatment
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial involving an investigational treatment
- People with a known allergy to Mitomycin C or to drugs with a similar chemical or biological makeup
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have a serious illness that is not currently under control
