Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have had a serious heart or blood vessel event, such as a heart attack, stroke, mini-stroke (TIA), cardiac arrest, unstable angina, or a hospital stay due to heart failure.
  • People who are currently experiencing clinical levels of anxiety, as shown by a score of 10 or higher on a standard anxiety questionnaire called the GAD-7.
  • People aged 18 or older.
  • People who are at least 2 months past their heart or blood vessel event (not in the immediate recovery phase).

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who do not speak or read English.
  • People who do not have access to a digital device (such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer).

  • People who have a planned major surgery coming up, or whose doctors expect them to live fewer than 6 months.
  • People who have schizophrenia, psychosis, bipolar disorder, a seizure disorder, or a current substance use disorder (other than nicotine), based on self-report.
  • People who have started or changed the dose of a psychiatric medication within the past 4 weeks.
  • People who have received CBT (a type of talking therapy) for anxiety within the last 3 months.
