Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People between 18 and 99 years old
  • People who have been using a permanently implanted Abbott PROCLAIM XR Dorsal Root Ganglion nerve stimulation device continuously for at least 1 year to treat long-term back and/or leg pain
  • People who report that their device has provided at least 50% pain relief in the treated area over the past year
  • People who have had a routine check-up appointment within the last 4 months
  • People whose device settings have been adjusted at least once before the study's randomisation point
  • People who are willing and able to fill out health and pain questionnaires, sign a study consent form, and attend follow-up appointments at the required times

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose device leads have moved significantly out of position, as determined by a clinician
  • People who have another nerve stimulation device implanted at the same time
  • People who have received a corticosteroid (steroid) injection in the 30 days before enrolling
  • People who have had gaps in their device use or device failure within the last 6 months
  • People whose pain medications have changed or are currently unstable within the last 30 days
