- People who are having a diagnostic scan or procedure (such as an endoscopic ultrasound or MRI scan of the bile ducts and pancreas) because they already have symptoms that may suggest pancreatic cancer — for example, recurring bouts of pancreatitis or abnormal results on existing scans
