Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a disc problem in the neck (such as a slipped disc or narrowing of the spinal canal) that is pressing on nearby nerves.
- People who have a documented history of neck and/or arm pain, or loss of feeling or movement, linked to the affected area of the neck.
- People who have not had surgery on the area being treated in the six weeks before the procedure.
- People whose condition has not improved with non-surgical treatments tried over the last six weeks.
- People aged 18 years or older.
- People who are willing to fully take part in the clinical trial and sign a written consent form.
- People who are able to understand what the trial involves, its goals, and its possible outcomes.
- People for whom all required patient information has been provided and all written consent forms have been completed.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose bone density scan (DXA) shows a T-score of -1.5 or lower — this applies to men aged 60 or older and women aged 50 or older.
- People with an active infection anywhere in the body, or specifically at the site where surgery would be performed.
- People who have had a bone fracture caused by osteoporosis in the spine, hip, or wrist.
- People who have cancer that has spread to the spine.
- People with a known allergy to titanium or polycarbonate-urethane (materials used in the disc implant).
- People who are confirmed to be pregnant.
- People with severe spinal cord compression in the neck (confirm with trial site).
- People whose treatment would require surgery that destabilises the spine, such as removal of structures at the back of the spine.
- People with significant structural deformity of the neck at the surgical site, such as ankylosing spondylitis or scoliosis.
- People with advanced wear and deterioration of the discs or vertebrae at the level being treated.
- People who are in an institution under court or official orders.
