Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People scheduled for a screening colonoscopy, which may be due to a positive bowel cancer screening test, a family or personal history of colon cancer or growths in the bowel, a history of inflammatory bowel disease, or symptoms such as bowel changes, bleeding, or anaemia
- People enrolled in the French social security system
- People who have signed a written consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who need an emergency colonoscopy
- People who have previously had part of their colon surgically removed
- People with behavioural disorders or a psychiatric illness
- People who have difficulty reading or completing a written questionnaire due to language or comprehension barriers
- People for whom hypnosis would not be suitable, such as those with hearing difficulties or problems understanding or communicating in the required language
- People for whom general anaesthesia is not medically safe
- People who are under a legal protection order or guardianship arrangement
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
