Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have Type 1 diabetes and have been using an automated insulin delivery system, or multiple daily insulin injections/insulin pump together with a continuous glucose monitor, for more than 6 months
- You are between 12 and 25 years old
- Your most recent HbA1c blood sugar average test result is below 11%
- You have not had a serious diabetes-related emergency (such as diabetic ketoacidosis or a dangerous high blood sugar crisis) in the last 30 days
- You have gone through the start of puberty (confirm with trial site)
- You weigh more than 54 kg (about 119 lbs) and your BMI is above the 5th percentile for your age and sex
Who may not be able to join:
- Your blood pressure is higher than 140/90 mmHg
- Your hemoglobin (a measure of red blood cells) is below 9 g/dL, which may indicate anaemia
- You have signs of reduced kidney function, a history of significant protein in your urine, or a history of sudden kidney injury (confirm with trial site)
- You take any diabetes medications other than insulin, or regularly take certain other medications including ACE inhibitors, ARBs, diuretics, daily anti-inflammatory painkillers (like ibuprofen), aspirin, or certain other specific drugs (confirm with trial site)
- You have an allergy to seafood or iodine
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding (applies to females)
