Who might be able to join this trial:
- People (men and women) who have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes
- People who use an insulin pump to manage their diabetes
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been hospitalised for diabetes-related problems (such as dangerously high or low blood sugar episodes) in the past three months
- People with serious heart or blood vessel problems, such as severe circulation issues in the legs, a history of heart attack, heart failure, blood clots, unstable chest pain, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or an abnormal resting heart tracing (EKG)
- People whose exercise stress test showed significant heart rhythm problems, irregular heartbeats, electrical conduction issues in the heart, or signs of reduced blood flow to the heart during exercise
- People with serious complications affecting the eyes (such as vision-threatening retinal disease) or the kidneys
- People with any uncontrolled health condition (not related to muscles or joints) that would make it difficult to take part in an exercise program — for example, severe lung disease
- People with muscle, joint, nerve, or bone conditions that affect the strength or movement of the legs — for example, a history of stroke or loss of feeling in the feet
- People who are pregnant
- People whose doctor has determined that exercise would be medically unsafe for them
