Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 20 and 70 years old and are generally able to carry out daily activities with minimal limitations, OR you are between 71 and 75 years old and fully able to carry out all normal daily activities without any restrictions
- Your colon cancer has been confirmed by a lab test to be a specific type (adenocarcinoma) at an advanced stage (high-risk Stage III), meaning it has grown through the colon wall and/or spread to nearby lymph nodes
- You had surgery to completely remove the cancer (with no cancer cells left at the edges) within the last 60 days before joining the trial
- Your blood counts, liver, and kidney are working well enough, based on recent blood tests (confirm with trial site for specific numbers)
- You are willing and able to read, understand, and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- Your doctors expect you to live for at least 5 more years
Who may not be able to join:
- Your cancer has spread to distant parts of the body (for example, the liver or lungs)
- You have cancer in the middle or lower part of the rectum that would require radiation therapy
- You had serious complications after your surgery (rated Grade 3 or higher on a standard medical scale) (confirm with trial site)
- You have another health condition or post-surgery issue that makes chemotherapy unsafe for you
- You have had a known allergic reaction to any of the treatments used in this trial
- You have a hereditary condition linked to colon polyps or colorectal cancer (such as FAP or Lynch syndrome)
- You have inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis)
