Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 50 to 75 with no special risk factors who have been referred for a colonoscopy as part of bowel cancer screening.
- People aged 30 to 80 who have a close family member who has had bowel cancer, and who have been referred for a colonoscopy as part of bowel cancer screening.
- People aged 18 or older who have previously had growths (polyps) in their bowel, and who have been referred for a follow-up colonoscopy.

- People aged 18 or older who are experiencing bowel-related symptoms and have been referred for a colonoscopy to investigate those symptoms.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who do not agree to participate in the study.
- People who have a personal diagnosis of Lynch syndrome (an inherited condition that increases cancer risk).
- People who have a personal history of a condition involving many polyps in the bowel, such as adenomatous or hamartomatous polyposis.
- People who have a personal history of serrated polyposis syndrome (a condition involving multiple specific types of bowel polyps).
- People who have a personal history of inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
- People who have had their entire large bowel surgically removed.
- People who have a family member diagnosed with Lynch syndrome, adenomatous or hamartomatous polyposis, or serrated polyposis syndrome.
