Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are 60 years of age or older
• You are able to read, write, and speak English
• You live in Las Vegas or the surrounding area
• You are able to travel to the UNLV campus for regular study visits, either on your own or with the help of a caregiver
• You have meaningful symptoms of depression, as shown by a score above 5 on a standard depression questionnaire for older adults (called the GDS-SF)
• You have mild memory or thinking difficulties — not too severe, but noticeable — as shown by a specific score range on a standard cognitive test (called the MoCA)

Who may not be able to join:

• You are currently having thoughts of suicide
• You have a history of suicide attempt(s)
• You are currently experiencing symptoms of psychosis (such as hallucinations or delusions) (confirm with trial site)
• You are currently struggling with a substance use disorder (such as alcohol or drug dependency)
• You have a history of bipolar disorder (sometimes called "manic depression")
• You have a history of intellectual disability
• You are currently receiving one-on-one talk therapy, or are about to start it
• You are currently taking psychiatric medications that have changed in dose within the past 2 weeks (a stable dose may be acceptable — confirm with trial site)
• You are currently living in a care facility such as assisted living, a nursing home, or an inpatient setting
• You have significant memory difficulties specifically, as shown by a low score on the memory portion of the cognitive test (confirm with trial site)
