Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have given their signed consent to take part in the study
• People diagnosed with Normal Tension Glaucoma — a type of glaucoma where eye pressure has never been above 21 mmHg, the drainage angle in the eye is open, and there are specific signs of nerve damage visible on scans or photographs
• People whose glaucoma has not been well-controlled with their current eye medications, as assessed by a glaucoma specialist

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose glaucoma was caused by a secondary condition, such as a previous eye injury or eye inflammation (uveitis)
• People with a condition called exfoliation syndrome affecting the eye
• People with a condition called pigment dispersion syndrome affecting the eye
• People who have previously had certain laser treatments to reduce eye pressure (transscleral or endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation)
• People who have previously had any other type of glaucoma surgery
• People who have previously had a retinal detachment
• People who have previously had certain eye surgeries such as vitrectomy or other retinal procedures
• People with wet age-related macular degeneration (a condition affecting central vision)
• People with diabetic retinopathy (eye damage related to diabetes)
• People who have previously had a corneal transplant or refractive (vision-correction) surgery
• People with Fuchs' dystrophy or other conditions that affect the clarity of the cornea, such as corneal scarring
• People who do not wish to participate in the study
• People who do not speak Finnish, Swedish, or English
• People with dementia
• People who have only one functioning eye, where that eye has vision worse than 20/200 or significant loss of central vision
