Who might be able to join this trial:

• Children who are between 4 and 8 years of age
• Children who speak English
• Children who have not had a dental cleaning or oral exam in the past 3 months, making them due for one
• Children who are in stable general health, as determined by the study coordinator and lead researcher

• Children who are currently experiencing dental pain, based on their own or their parent's report
• Children with known allergies or significant reactions to dogs, toothpaste, mouth rinse, or any ingredient in dental cleaning paste
• Children who are afraid of dogs, or who have had a previous negative experience with dogs, as reported by the child or parent
• Children with a serious medical or psychiatric condition that the lead researcher considers could increase risk or affect the study results
• Children with a developmental or cognitive disability that means they are unable to understand, agree to, or follow the requirements of the study, based on the research team's assessment
