Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with stage I or stage II colorectal cancer (without high-risk features), confirmed by laboratory testing of tissue.
- People aged 18 or older at the time of signing the consent form, of any gender.
- People who are scheduled to have surgery to remove their colorectal cancer and who have a positive ctDNA blood test result (a test that detects small amounts of cancer DNA in the blood) before the surgery.
- People who are generally well enough to carry out daily activities, based on a standard medical fitness scale (ECOG score of 0 or 1).
- People who are able to give written consent themselves, or through a legal representative, and who are able to follow the study requirements.
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a past history of colorectal cancer, non-cancerous growths in the colon (colorectal adenoma), or cancer of the digestive or upper airway tract.
- People who have already received chemotherapy or other systemic cancer treatment before their scheduled surgery.
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who have a medical condition or other issue that, in the opinion of the study doctor, could affect the study results, prevent full participation, or make joining the trial not in their best interest.
- People whose tumor tissue sample is not of sufficient quality or quantity to allow ctDNA testing to be carried out.
