Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have a serious nerve injury affecting the sciatic nerve, brachial plexus, or another major nerve in your arm or leg, and the injury happened within the past year
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable to safely have an MRI scan
- You have a pre-existing health condition that would make it unsafe or impractical to harvest a small nerve (called the sural nerve) from your leg for use in the procedure (confirm with trial site)
- The gap in your injured nerve is longer than 10 centimetres
- You have a history of radiation treatment or cancer in the area where your nerve injury is located, including tumours on the nerve itself
- You are pregnant, or you test positive for pregnancy before enrolling (if applicable)
- You have a disease or condition that could affect your safety, your ability to follow the study requirements, or the results of the study (confirm with trial site)
- You have a history of active substance abuse
- You are allergic to the antibiotic gentamicin
- You have tested positive for HIV, Hepatitis B, or Hepatitis C
- You are unable to give your own consent to participate due to a cognitive impairment
