Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 18 and 80 years old (men and women).
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes, of any type.
- People who have not already been diagnosed with diabetic nerve damage in their feet or legs at the time of joining.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had problems with alcohol or drug misuse in the past year.
- People who have received or are receiving chemotherapy, or who are taking any experimental medicines.
- People with severe vitamin deficiencies.
- People who are unable to understand or follow the procedures involved in the study.
- People who are likely to stop receiving care at Aalborg University Hospital during the study period.
- People with a known blood disorder that makes it very difficult for small cuts or wounds to stop bleeding.
- People with severely reduced blood flow to their limbs.
- People who currently have an open diabetic foot wound or ulcer.
- People who have previously had an amputation.
- People with severe skin conditions, or conditions known to cause nerve damage.
- People who are pregnant at the time of joining the trial.
