Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have a spinal cord injury in the neck or upper back area that happened at least 6 months ago (at any level of severity)
• You are between 18 and 60 years old
• You have been diagnosed with major depression, confirmed through a structured interview with a clinician
• Your depression has been rated as moderately severe or above on a standard depression rating scale (confirm with trial site)
• You are either not taking any antidepressant medications, or your medication doses have not changed for at least 4 weeks before the study (or 6 weeks if you recently started a new medication)

Who may not be able to join:

• You have another neurological condition or dementia in addition to your spinal cord injury
• You have significant difficulties with memory or thinking, based on a standard cognitive test
• You have a history of psychosis or another major psychiatric condition that is considered your primary diagnosis
• You have screened positive for bipolar disorder on a standard psychiatric interview
• You have a history of feeling very uncomfortable in enclosed spaces (claustrophobia)
• Your life expectancy is less than 1 year
• You have any electronic or metal implants in your body, such as a pacemaker, cochlear implant, or metal in your head
• You have a history of seizures or are currently taking medication to prevent seizures
• You are taking any medication that is known to increase the risk of seizures (confirm with trial site)
• You are pregnant, confirmed by a urine test
• You have had serious thoughts of suicide recently or have attempted suicide in the past two years (confirm with trial site)
• You are unable to give informed consent, or you do not wish to give consent to take part
