Who might be able to join this trial:
- People whose eye examination (a test called gonioscopy) shows that a specific part of the eye's drainage angle cannot be seen across 6 or more sections of the eye's full circle, in both eyes, with no scarring in the angle.
- People who have normal eye pressure, a healthy optic nerve, and normal vision field results.
- People who are able to understand and agree to take part in the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who already have signs of primary angle closure, meaning a narrow drainage angle combined with scarring or raised eye pressure (above 21 mmHg), or who have been diagnosed with angle closure glaucoma (including vision field damage or optic nerve damage from glaucoma).
- People who have previously had eye surgery or laser treatment, such as cataract surgery, laser trabeculoplasty, trabeculectomy, laser peripheral iridectomy, or laser iridoplasty.
- People who show signs of a previous sudden eye pressure attack, such as certain cloudiness on the eye's lens, deposits on the inner eye surface, or changes to the iris.
- People whose eye examination shows structural abnormalities in the front part of the eye, such as a tumour on the iris or ciliary body.
- People with serious health conditions that would make it difficult to attend follow-up visits, such as advanced heart, kidney, or lung disease, or terminal cancer.
- People with serious eye conditions such as advanced cataracts, macular disease, or retinal detachment.
