Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged between 18 and 80 years old, either male or female

• People who have received chemotherapy given throughout the whole body (systemic chemotherapy) before surgery
• People who were found to have cancer that had already spread to distant parts of the body at the time of first diagnosis
• People whose surgery is intended to manage symptoms rather than cure the cancer (palliative surgery)
• People who require emergency surgery
• People whose cancer is linked to an inherited condition called Lynch syndrome or Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP)
