Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are suspected of having colorectal cancer and for whom a colonoscopy has been recommended by their doctor.
- People between 50 and 75 years old who have no current digestive symptoms, and for whom a follow-up colonoscopy has been recommended (for example, as part of a pre-surgery check-up for an unrelated condition, or following a previous bowel complication).
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have certain other medical conditions that could affect a specific protein measured in the blood, including: a recent heart attack or unstable chest pain, severe blood infection, advanced liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis), or bowel inflammation caused by radiation treatment.
- People who have had polyps removed during a colonoscopy before the tissue was first examined under a microscope to confirm what the polyp was.
- People who need emergency treatment for a bowel blockage or a serious abdominal emergency.
- People under 18 years of age.
- Adults who are legally unable to consent for themselves or who are unable to communicate their consent.
- People who are not covered by a social security or health insurance system.
- Women who are pregnant, in labour, or currently breastfeeding.
