Who may not be able to join:

  • You have already received first-line (initial) treatment for your pancreatic adenocarcinoma
  • You have a known allergy or medical reason why you cannot take gemcitabine or albumin-bound paclitaxel
  • You have been treated for another cancer in the past 2 years, with some exceptions such as early-stage prostate cancer, cervical cancer in situ, breast cancer in situ, or certain non-melanoma skin cancers
  • Your blood counts, or your heart, liver, or kidney function are outside acceptable ranges as measured by blood tests (confirm with trial site for specific values)
  • You need to take high-dose steroid tablets or other immune-suppressing medicines regularly (exceptions may apply for short-term or inhaled/topical steroids — confirm with trial site)
  • You have a serious active infection that your doctor feels makes you unsuitable for the trial
  • You are known to be HIV-positive
  • You have active hepatitis B, active hepatitis C, or another active infection that could affect your treatment
  • You have a significant neurological or psychiatric condition (such as epilepsy or dementia) or a history of substance or alcohol misuse in the past year that may affect your ability to follow the study requirements
  • You have broken, infected, or unhealed skin in the area where the electric field device would be applied to your body
  • You have an implanted electronic medical device, such as a pacemaker
  • You have metal medical implants (such as bone screws or plates) in your chest or abdomen
  • You have a known allergy to medical adhesives or hydrogels (the materials used with the electric field device)
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have taken part in another drug clinical trial within the past 3 months, or another device clinical trial within the past month
  • Your doctor feels you are unlikely to follow the study requirements reliably
