Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged between 18 and 70 years old.
• People who are able to understand the study and formally agree to take part.
• People who are able to read and write.
• People who have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (a serious form of depression), according to recognised diagnostic guidelines.

• People who have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, a psychotic disorder, or an eating disorder.
• People who have had an acute (sudden or active) infection in the two weeks before their blood sample is taken.
• People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• People who are taking glucocorticoid medications (a type of steroid medication).
• People who have been prescribed NMDA receptor antagonist medications (confirm with trial site for specific drug names).
• People who are currently receiving brain stimulation therapy for their depression.
• People who are currently taking part in another study or program focused on diet, physical exercise, or depression treatment.
