Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have had type 1 diabetes for at least 5 years
  • People who are at risk of low blood sugar levels during the night — either shown by a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) recording blood sugar dropping very low (below 54 mg/dL) for at least 1% of the time over the past 4 weeks, or based on recent history suggesting nighttime low blood sugar, confirmed by a study-provided CGM worn during an extra screening period

  • People who have had one or more episodes of very severe low blood sugar (needing help from another person to recover) in the past 4 weeks, or more than 2 such episodes in the past 3 months
  • People who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, or certain other medical conditions affecting hormones or metabolism (including pheochromocytoma, insulinoma, glucagonoma, acromegaly, Cushing's disease, glycogen storage disease, or adrenal insufficiency)
  • People with a significant kidney disease
  • People with abnormal liver function
