Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had type 1 diabetes for at least 5 years
- People who are at risk of low blood sugar levels during the night — either shown by a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) recording blood sugar dropping very low (below 54 mg/dL) for at least 1% of the time over the past 4 weeks, or based on recent history suggesting nighttime low blood sugar, confirmed by a study-provided CGM worn during an extra screening period
- People whose HbA1c blood sugar level (a measure of average blood sugar over several months) is 10.0% or below at the time of screening
- People whose Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 18.5 and below 33 kg/m²
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been hospitalised for a serious diabetes complication called diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) more than once in the past 6 months
- People who have had one or more episodes of very severe low blood sugar (needing help from another person to recover) in the past 4 weeks, or more than 2 such episodes in the past 3 months
- People who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, or certain other medical conditions affecting hormones or metabolism (including pheochromocytoma, insulinoma, glucagonoma, acromegaly, Cushing's disease, glycogen storage disease, or adrenal insufficiency)
- People with a significant kidney disease
- People with abnormal liver function
