  • You have a rectal polyp or tumour that is larger than 2cm and are due to have surgery or a medical assessment, or your doctor suspects you may have one
  • You have been diagnosed with rectal cancer and are due to have surgery or a medical assessment, including if you have already received treatment to shrink the cancer beforehand
  • You are willing and able to give your informed consent to take part in the study
  • You are male or female and aged 18 years or older
  • You are considered well enough by your doctors to have a planned (non-emergency) procedure

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are female and are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant within three months of the study
  • You have serious kidney or liver problems
  • You have another significant illness or condition that the study doctor believes could put you at risk, affect the study results, or make it difficult for you to take part (confirm with trial site)
  • You have had an allergic reaction to contrast dye used in scans, or to iodine-based products
  • You are currently taking certain medications that are not compatible with the dye used in this study, including some anti-seizure medications, some drugs containing bisulphite, methadone, or nitrofurantoin (confirm with trial site)
