Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older who have had a spinal cord injury at any level of the spine and of any severity, where the injury occurred recently (in the early stage after the traumatic event)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently taking anti-seizure (anticonvulsant) medications
- People who have signs of nerve pain (neuropathic pain)
- People who have had an allergic reaction to a medication called calcitonin in the past
- People who have problems with their kidneys, liver, or heart, or who have other neurological (nervous system) conditions
- People who also have a brain injury, or serious injuries to their limbs or abdomen
