Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have been prescribed a chemotherapy medication
- People who are currently taking at least one of the following medications: citalopram, escitalopram, venlafaxine, desvenlafaxine, codeine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, tramadol, or ondansetron
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable to complete study surveys, even with help from someone else, including people who do not speak English
- People who are currently receiving palliative care
- People taking an antidepressant medication for a reason other than depression or anxiety — for example, to manage hot flashes (this applies only to the antidepressant group in the trial)
- People who were diagnosed with major depression before their cancer diagnosis (this applies only to the antidepressant group in the trial)
