Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 65 years old or older
- You have a broken bone in your leg or foot area (lower body) caused by a fragility fracture (a break that happened more easily than expected, often due to weaker bones) and had surgery to treat it
Who may not be able to join:
- You have injuries to multiple parts of your body at the same time (polytrauma)
- Your bone fracture was caused by an underlying disease, such as a tumor or cancer spreading to the bone
- You are currently receiving hospice (end-of-life comfort) care
- You have previously been diagnosed with a psychiatric (mental health) disorder
- You have previously been diagnosed with dementia
- You are currently taking antidepressant medications known as SSRIs or SNRIs (such as fluoxetine, sertraline, or venlafaxine)
- You are currently taking medications used to stabilize mood (such as those used for bipolar disorder)
- You are unable to give your own informed consent to participate in the study (a legal representative cannot provide consent on your behalf)
- You have a pre-existing condition that seriously limits your life expectancy, such as cancer (confirm with trial site for other qualifying conditions)
