Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older.
- People who are generally able to carry out daily activities and are either fully active or able to carry out light work (this is measured using a standard scale called the ECOG scale, with a score of 0 or 1).
- People who have been diagnosed with colorectal (bowel) cancer that has spread to other parts of the body or cannot be removed by surgery, and where the diagnosis has been confirmed through a tissue or cell sample.

- People who have already received certain standard chemotherapy treatments containing drugs called 5-fluorouracil, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan. If the cancer is also "HER2 positive," a prior HER2-targeted therapy must also have been received.
Who may not be able to join:
- People with other serious medical conditions that are not well controlled and would prevent completion of the treatment plan.
- People whose cancer has a specific gene change called a BRAF V600 mutation.
- People who are currently taking certain medications that strongly affect how the body processes drugs (known as strong CYP3A4 inducers or inhibitors) — these would need to be stopped at least 2 weeks before starting the trial (confirm with trial site regarding specific medications).
- People whose cancer is classified as "mismatch repair deficient" or "microsatellite instability high" — these are laboratory test results that the trial site can check.
- People who have previously been treated with a drug called TAS102 (also known as trifluridine/tipiracil).
