Who might be able to join this trial:
For people with Parkinson's disease:
- People aged between 30 and 85 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease by a neurologist
- People who are able to do 30 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise with 2 to 3 short breaks (based on self-report)
For people without Parkinson's disease (control group):
- People aged between 30 and 85 years old
- People without any major medical diagnoses
- People who are able to do 30 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise with 2 to 3 short breaks (based on self-report)
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a health condition that would prevent safe exercise participation, such as heart rhythm problems, uncontrolled blood pressure, or exercise-induced asthma (based on self-report)
- People who are not cleared for exercise participation after completing a standard exercise readiness questionnaire (called the PAR-Q+), which checks for risk factors related to moderate physical activity
- People with dementia, as the trial includes self-report questionnaires — this is assessed using a memory and thinking test called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, and a score of 21 or below would mean a person is not eligible; people with mild cognitive impairment or no cognitive impairment are eligible to participate
