Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older.
- People who have been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and have only received one line of treatment (this includes induction therapy, consolidation therapy, a stem cell transplant, and maintenance — all counted together as one line; switching from one maintenance drug to another due to side effects is also counted as one line).
- People who have been on maintenance therapy (ongoing treatment to keep the disease in remission) for at least 2 years.
- People who stopped maintenance therapy before 2 years because of side effects, but who also achieved a sustained deep remission with no detectable cancer remaining (known as MRD-negative complete remission) — these people may also be considered (confirm with trial site).
- People who are able to understand and willing to sign a consent form, and who agree to follow the study schedule, knowing they are free to withdraw at any time without it affecting their future medical care.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have received more than one line of treatment for their myeloma, or who have not completed two years of maintenance therapy (unless maintenance was stopped due to side effects and deep remission with no detectable cancer has been achieved).
- People who have a related but different plasma cell disorder, such as Waldenström's macroglobulinemia, AL amyloidosis, or POEMS syndrome, rather than multiple myeloma.
- People who have previously had an organ transplant, or who have a condition that requires them to take medication to suppress their immune system.
- People who have previously had a donor (allogeneic) stem cell or bone marrow transplant.
- People who have received an experimental treatment that did not include maintenance therapy as part of the treatment plan.
- People who are unable to sign a consent form.
