Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have a nerve injury in the arm, anywhere from the shoulder nerve network (brachial plexus) down to the wrist.
• People whose injury affects either mixed nerves (which carry both movement and sensation signals) or motor nerves (which control movement).
• People who have been assessed as needing surgery to repair the injured nerve.
• People whose planned surgery involves one of these techniques: nerve transfer, direct nerve repair, or nerve grafting.
• People between 18 and 80 years of age.
• People who have signed and dated a consent form agreeing to take part.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have a serious health condition, such as an irregular heartbeat or heart failure, that makes surgery unsafe.
• People whose nerve repair would require a graft longer than 6 centimetres.
• People whose nerve repair surgery would take place more than 12 months after the original injury occurred.
• People younger than 18 or older than 80 years of age.
• People for whom the required surgery is otherwise not suitable, including those with language barriers, cognitive or mental health barriers, an inability to give informed consent, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
