Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease by a neurologist, and your condition is rated between 2 and 4 on a standard scale used to measure how severe Parkinson's symptoms are (called the Hoehn and Yahr Scale)
- You are able to receive a type of hands-on physical treatment that involves gentle manipulation of muscles and joints (called Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, or OMM)
- You are able to lie flat on your back and on your stomach for a muscle measurement test
- You are able to walk, so that your walking pattern can be measured
- You experience leg pain, leg cramping, or changes in the way you walk because of your Parkinson's disease
Who may not be able to join:
- You have severe, frequent involuntary muscle twitching (called fasciculations) that could interfere with measurements, based on a doctor's assessment
- Your walking difficulties are caused by something other than Parkinson's disease
- You have another diagnosed neurological condition (such as a stroke or multiple sclerosis) that could affect muscle stiffness or your ability to walk, and therefore affect the results of the study
