Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are scheduled to have a major operation under general anaesthesia
- Your surgery is expected to last longer than 2 hours
- You are expected to stay in hospital for more than 2 days after your operation
- You will have your blood pressure monitored continuously through a small tube placed in an artery (at the wrist or groin), along with a specific monitoring device called Mostcare

- You have an irregular heartbeat (cardiac arrhythmia)
- A specific point on your blood pressure waveform cannot be properly identified for any reason (confirm with trial site)
- Your blood pressure is planned to be kept deliberately low during surgery (below a specific threshold)
- Your blood pressure is already unstable or too low before surgery
- You need medication to support your heart or blood pressure before surgery
- You are already receiving drugs that affect your blood vessels or blood pressure before surgery
- You have a mechanical device called an intra-aortic balloon pump fitted to support your heart
- You are being supported by a machine that does the work of the heart and lungs (ECMO)
- You are critically ill and need intensive care before your operation
- You have raised pressure inside your abdomen (confirm with trial site)
- You have moderate to severe heart failure (classified as New York Heart Association Class 3 or 4)
- You have heart failure where your heart is pumping significantly below normal capacity
- Your kidneys are not working well enough, based on a specific kidney function measurement
- You are currently receiving dialysis or another form of kidney replacement therapy
