Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who are willing and able to give informed consent to participate
- People who are willing and able to attend follow-up visits and complete surveys over a longer period of time
- People who have a Type II, III, or IV hiatal hernia larger than 5 cm, confirmed by upper GI imaging, CT scan, or MRI, or confirmed during surgery
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant
- People with a BMI over 45
- People who have a known allergy to any components of surgical mesh
- People who are having a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as a weight-loss stomach surgery (such as a sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, or partial or total stomach removal)
- People who have previously had a hiatal hernia repair surgery
