Who might be able to join this trial:

• Adults aged 18 or older
• People who are scheduled for a repeat heart rhythm procedure (called AF ablation) for atrial fibrillation — either the type that comes and goes (paroxysmal) or the type that is more continuous (persistent) — where the main recurring abnormal rhythm is atrial fibrillation specifically, not another type of irregular rhythm
• People who have a history of high blood pressure, and either have had a recorded very high blood pressure reading (systolic at or above 160, or diastolic at or above 100) or are currently taking one or more blood pressure-lowering medications
• People who are willing to follow the study requirements and attend all follow-up appointments after the procedure

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose atrial fibrillation has been continuous for more than 12 months (long-standing persistent AF), who have had more than 3 AF ablation procedures in their lifetime, who had an AF ablation within the past 3 months, or who have extensive scarring in the left chamber of their heart
• People whose atrial fibrillation is caused by a heart valve problem or by a temporary, reversible condition
• People who have previously been treated with certain specialised devices for high blood pressure, including the ROX Coupler, Mobius stent, or CVRx barostimulator
• People with the most severe level of heart failure (classified as NYHA Class IV) (confirm with trial site)
• People whose kidney artery structure or anatomy is not suitable for the procedure, based on imaging — this includes issues such as arteries that are too narrow or too short, blockages, calcification, abnormal tumours on the kidneys, previous stents or angioplasty to the kidney or aorta, certain artery diseases, or blockages in the leg arteries that would prevent the procedure catheter from being inserted
• People whose kidneys are not filtering well enough, based on a specific blood test result (eGFR below 40 mL/min/1.73m²)
• People for whom the AF ablation procedure itself cannot safely be performed — for example, due to a blood clot in the heart or a medical reason preventing the use of blood-thinning medications
• People with a known allergy to contrast dye (the fluid used in imaging) that cannot be managed with treatment
• People with a life expectancy of less than one year due to any medical condition
• People who have had a heart attack, severe chest pain (unstable angina), stroke, or a hospital admission for heart failure within the past 3 months
• People with a documented history of chronic active inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
• People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• People whose high blood pressure is known to have a specific identified medical cause (known as secondary hypertension)
• People who have only one working kidney, whether from birth or due to a prior medical procedure
• People with a known history of drug or alcohol dependency, or who would be unlikely or unable to follow the study's instructions and follow-up requirements
• People who are currently participating in another clinical trial of an investigational drug or device that could interfere with this study
