Who might be able to join this trial:
- Men or women of any ethnicity, racial background, or gender identity
- People who are fluent in English
- People between 18 and 70 years old
- People who have a spinal cord injury (complete or incomplete) at a level above the lower back (above L1)
- People who have had ongoing nerve pain that started after their spinal cord injury, lasting at least three months before joining the study
- People whose pain is at least moderate — rated 4 or higher on a scale of 0 to 10
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a major mental health condition (based on self-report)
- People who have had a significant brain or nerve injury other than their spinal cord injury (based on self-report)
- People with a history of alcohol or drug misuse in the past year, as measured by a screening questionnaire
- People with vision or hearing loss that has not been corrected
- People with a history of epilepsy or seizures
- People who have any metal implants in the head, or devices such as a cochlear (hearing) implant or a heart pacemaker
- People who are unable to give their own informed consent
- People under 18 years old (including infants, children, and teenagers)
- Women who are pregnant
- People who are currently prisoners
