Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are able to give informed consent to participate in research.
- People who have been clinically diagnosed with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (Parkinson's disease without a known external cause).
- People whose doctor has determined, through standard medical assessment, that they are a suitable candidate for a type of brain surgery called deep brain stimulation (DBS), targeting a specific area of the brain called the subthalamic nucleus.

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a form of Parkinsonism caused by another condition, or who have had a stroke, or who have a progressive brain or nervous system disease other than Parkinson's disease.
- People who have a medical condition that, in the opinion of the research team, could significantly increase health risks, interfere with following the study requirements, or affect the study results.
