Who might be able to join this trial:

For young people (ages 10–13) and their parent or guardian:

• The teenager lives in the United States

For diabetes care providers:

• The provider works at one of the diabetes care centres involved in the study

Who may not be able to join:

For young people (ages 10–13):

• Currently being treated for a serious or significant ongoing medical condition alongside diabetes (such as cancer or cystic fibrosis)
• Currently being treated for a serious or significant mental health or psychiatric condition
• Currently being treated for a serious or significant developmental condition that could affect the young person's ability to understand and take part, or that could affect study results

For parents or legal guardians:

• Currently being treated for a serious or significant ongoing medical condition (such as cancer or cystic fibrosis)
• Currently being treated for a serious or significant mental health or psychiatric condition
• Currently being treated for a serious or significant developmental condition that could affect their ability to understand and take part, or that could affect study results

Other reasons a family may not be able to join:

• The family plans to move the young person's diabetes care to a different hospital or clinic within the next 6 months
• The legal guardianship of the young person with diabetes is unclear at the time of screening or recruitment
• The study team becomes aware of involvement with the legal system during the screening or recruitment process (confirm with trial site)

For teenagers contributing to video content:

• The teenager or their parent has a significant psychiatric or developmental condition that would interfere with the ability to understand and take part
