Who may be able to join

  • Adults between 18 and 50 years old, of any sex, who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) according to a specific set of recognised diagnostic guidelines (the 2017 revised McDonald's Criteria), including any form of MS such as relapsing-remitting, primary progressive, or secondary progressive, and who are already attending follow-up appointments at an MS clinic.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People who have had an MS relapse recently, or who have taken corticosteroid medications in the past 3 months.
  • People who have another serious health condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, or a history of heavy alcohol use.
  • People who follow a specific or restrictive diet.
  • People who are currently taking anti-inflammatory drugs, cholesterol-lowering medications, hormone replacement therapy (oestrogen), steroid treatments, or any other medications that could affect how the body processes nutrients or metabolism.
  • People who have a demyelinating condition that is not MS, such as NMOSD (Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder) or MOGAD (MOG Antibody-Associated Disease).
  • People who are unlikely to attend follow-up appointments consistently throughout the trial.
