Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 45 and 84 years old at the time of signing up
- You are already scheduled to have a routine screening colonoscopy as part of your normal healthcare
- Your doctor or healthcare provider considers you to be at average risk for colorectal cancer
- You are willing to have a blood sample taken before your bowel prep or colonoscopy, ideally within 90 days of that blood draw
- You are willing to be followed up for one year as part of the study
- You are able and willing to sign a consent form to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- You are having a colonoscopy because you already have symptoms that may suggest colorectal cancer
- You have had a colonoscopy in the last 9 years
- You had a positive stool blood test (FIT or FOBT) result within the past 12 months (roughly)
- You have completed certain other bowel cancer screening tests (Cologuard or Epi proColon) within the last 3 years
- You have had a CT scan of your colon (CT colonography) within the last 4 years
- You have a personal history of colorectal cancer
- You have been diagnosed with any other cancer in the last 5 years
- You have been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease, such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease
- A close family member (parent, sibling, or child) was diagnosed with colorectal cancer before age 60, or more than one close family member has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer at any age
- You have a known inherited condition that significantly raises your risk of colorectal cancer, such as Lynch syndrome or Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (confirm with trial site)
- You have experienced a major physical trauma, surgery, organ transplant, or blood transfusion within the 30 days before signing up
- You have a known medical condition that the study doctor believes would make it unsuitable for you to participate
- You are pregnant at the time of signing up, blood sample collection, or during the study
- You have taken part in another clinical trial involving an experimental medication within the 30 days before signing up, or may receive one before your colonoscopy
