Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with either advanced (stage IV) or inoperable non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic adenocarcinoma (a type of pancreatic cancer), or colorectal cancer — a cachexia (muscle-wasting) diagnosis is not required to be considered.
- People who are about to start, or have recently started (within the past 6 weeks), a first course of cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or targeted therapy — or who are enrolled in another interventional clinical trial as their first treatment.
- People who previously received chemotherapy before or after surgery for their cancer, and whose cancer has since come back, may still be considered if that earlier treatment ended more than 6 months before joining this trial.
- People who are receiving radiation treatment alongside their systemic cancer therapy, or who received surgery or radiation alone before starting their first course of systemic treatment, may still be considered.
- People who have a physical functioning level rated 0, 1, or 2 on a standard medical scale used to measure how much a person's illness affects their daily activity (confirm with trial site).
- People who are able to speak, read, and understand English.
- People aged 18 years or older.
Who may not be able to join:
- People for whom the treating doctor considers it unsafe to complete certain physical fitness tests, including a 30-second arm curl, a timed sit-to-stand-and-walk test, and a 30-second chair-stand test.
- People who have a major surgery planned within the next 3 months.
- People who have received chemotherapy or surgery for a separate, different cancer within the past 3 years — except for early-stage non-melanoma skin cancer treated only in the affected area.
- People who are pregnant.
- People currently receiving maintenance treatment following a completed first course of cancer therapy.
