- Anyone who has had, or is currently receiving, treatment for a psychiatric (mental health) condition
- Anyone who has had brain surgery or epilepsy, including those who have a deep brain stimulation device
- Anyone with a condition affecting the muscles or nerves that control them
- Anyone with an existing lung condition, such as COPD, asthma, or pulmonary fibrosis
- Anyone who cannot safely receive TMS (a type of brain stimulation), for example due to metal parts in the head or neck, or skin allergies
- Anyone with an implanted heart pacemaker, defibrillator, nerve stimulator, cochlear implant, or medical pump device
- Anyone with large or magnetic metal parts in the head (a dental wire is generally acceptable)
- Anyone who is pregnant
- Anyone who smokes
