Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are able to sign and date a consent form agreeing to take part.
- People aged 18 years or older.
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes by a doctor, or whose test results meet the American Diabetes Association's criteria for diabetes.
- People who have an open wound on the foot or ankle area (from the ankle bone downward), including wounds left open to heal after surgery in that area — if there are multiple wounds, the largest one would be used for the study.
- People who are willing to attend all required study visits and provide the necessary samples and health information.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have taken part in another interventional clinical trial for diabetic foot ulcers within the past month before the first study visit.
- People who are currently receiving radiation treatment or chemotherapy.
- People who have gangrene (tissue death) anywhere on the foot that has the wound being studied.
- People who are scheduled for, or currently being assessed for, a procedure to improve blood flow in the affected leg within the next 4 weeks of the study start.
- People who have been assessed as having severely reduced blood flow to the limb (confirm with trial site for how this is measured).
- People who have another medical or mental health condition that, in the opinion of the study doctors, could prevent them from safely completing the study.
