Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are at least 18 years old.
  • People who have been newly diagnosed with symptomatic multiple myeloma, confirmed using internationally recognised diagnostic guidelines from 2014.
  • People whose multiple myeloma has shown at least a partial response to one previous treatment course, as determined by their doctor using standard response criteria.
  • Women who could become pregnant must agree to use either complete abstinence from heterosexual intercourse, or two reliable forms of contraception at the same time, starting at least 4 weeks before the study drug is given and continuing for at least 3 months after the last dose. A negative pregnancy test is also required within 14 days before joining the study.
  • People (or their legal representative) who have read, understood, and signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have been diagnosed with primary amyloidosis, a condition called monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), or smoldering multiple myeloma (an early, symptom-free form of the disease).
  • People whose myeloma did not respond to a recent treatment, or whose disease got worse within 60 days of their last treatment, after having previously shown at least some response — this is known as relapsed and refractory myeloma.
  • People whose myeloma has never responded to any treatment — this is known as primary refractory myeloma.
  • People who, in the opinion of the study doctor, may be unable to follow the study procedures, or for whom taking part would not be in their best interest, or whose condition might interfere with the study's assessments.
