Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who carry a harmful gene change in STK11 and are aged 30 or older
- People who carry a harmful gene change in CDKN2A and are aged 40 or older — or aged 10 years younger than the earliest pancreatic cancer diagnosis in their family, whichever age comes first
- People who carry a harmful gene change in one of these genes — ATM, BRCA1, BRCA2, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, EPCAM, PALB2, or TP53 — and are aged 50 or older (or 10 years younger than the earliest pancreatic cancer diagnosis in their family, whichever comes first), AND who have at least one close or extended family member on the same side of the family who has had pancreatic cancer
- People who carry a harmful gene change in PRSS1 and have a history of hereditary pancreatitis (a long-term inflammation of the pancreas passed down in families), and are aged 40 or older — or 20 years after their pancreatitis first started, whichever comes first
- People with a strong family history of pancreatic cancer in 2 or more close (first-degree) relatives on the same side of the family, even without a known gene change identified
- People with a family history of pancreatic cancer in 1 close (first-degree) relative and 1 more distant (second-degree) relative, even without a known gene change identified
- People with a family history of pancreatic cancer in 3 or more close or moderately close relatives on the same side of the family, even without a known gene change identified
- People who are already receiving medically recommended pancreatic cancer surveillance (regular monitoring/screening for pancreatic cancer)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who currently have, or have previously been diagnosed with, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (a specific type of pancreatic cancer)
- People who currently have any cancer that has spread to other parts of the body
- People who are not able to give their own informed consent to participate
- People under the age of 18
- People who are unable to tolerate MRI scans or endoscopic ultrasound procedures (a camera procedure to examine the pancreas)
- People who are currently pregnant (confirm with trial site, as the criteria note that consent may be possible at a later date)
