You have been diagnosed with major depression according to standard medical guidelines (DSM-5)
You are currently taking an antidepressant at a proper dose for at least 4 weeks but have not improved enough, OR you have had to stop taking an antidepressant because of side effects that were too difficult to tolerate

You have an unstable or poorly controlled physical health condition
You have a history of epilepsy or seizures
You have used alcohol or drugs in a harmful or dependent way within the past year
You have dementia or a psychotic disorder (such as schizophrenia)
Your doctor believes there is any other reason that would make it unsafe or unsuitable for you to take part (confirm with trial site)
