- People whose test results show a condition other than non-small cell lung cancer, such as a non-cancerous growth, cancer that has spread from elsewhere in the body, or a different type of lung cancer called small cell lung cancer.
- People who have already received pre-surgery cancer treatment (such as chemotherapy or radiation) before the operation.
- People whose planned surgery involves removing an entire lung, two lobes, a lobe plus a segment, or a non-precise removal such as a wedge resection.
- People who have been diagnosed with another type of cancer within the past 5 years.
