Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat that comes and goes on its own)
- People whose heart is pumping at a normal or near-normal level (a heart pumping function measurement of 50% or above)
- People who are already scheduled to have a catheter ablation procedure for their atrial fibrillation
- People who are able to speak, hear, and read English

Who may not be able to join:
- People whose atrial fibrillation is persistent (does not stop on its own) or permanent
- People who have previously had an ablation procedure for atrial fibrillation, whether by catheter or surgery
- People with a significant problem with the heart's natural pacemaker node (sinus node dysfunction)
- People who have an implanted pacemaker or defibrillator device
- People who are unable to have or complete a cardiac MRI scan for any reason
- People who are unable to complete an exercise test for any reason
- People with significant kidney disease (where kidney filtering function falls below a certain level — confirm with trial site)
- People with severe thickening of the heart's main pumping chamber wall
- People with a separate heart muscle condition that is expected to limit their ability to exercise, such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiac amyloidosis, or constrictive pericarditis
- People with high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension)
- People who have previously had heart surgery
- People who are currently pregnant
