Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (Parkinson's with no known cause) by a doctor
- People at any stage of Parkinson's disease
- People who are able to give their own consent to take part in a research study
- People who are willing to take part in 45–60 minutes of high-intensity walking and physical therapy sessions
- People who have enough arm and hand strength to use a front-wheeled walker
- People who report having difficulties with walking or balance
- People who are over 18 years of age
- People who are able to remain upright for at least 15 minutes
- People who weigh 220 pounds (100 kg) or less
- People whose height is approximately between 5'0" and 6'4"
- People who have near-normal movement in their hips, knees, and ankles — for example, those who can straighten their knees fully, even briefly, either while standing or lying flat
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently taking part in another research intervention study or a separate course of physical therapy
- People who have another neurological condition in addition to Parkinson's disease
- People who report having a difference in leg length between their two legs
- People with an unstable spine
- People with an unresolved blood clot in a deep vein (such as in the leg)
- People experiencing severe muscle or bone pain
- People with open skin sores on the buttocks or other areas of the body that would be in contact with the exoskeleton device or harness used in the study
- People who are pregnant
- People who have cognitive difficulties that prevent them from following two-step instructions or communicating if they are in pain or need to stop
- People who need more than one therapist to help them move safely from one position to another
- People with uncontrolled or severe drops in blood pressure when moving from sitting to standing, causing ongoing symptoms
- People with certain bone or joint conditions, including active abnormal bone growth (confirm with trial site), hip dysplasia, or abnormal alignment of the hip or knee
- People who have a colostomy bag
- People who have a history of long bone fractures caused by osteoporosis
- People whose Parkinson's medication has changed in the past week, or who are unable to keep their current medication routine stable
- People whom the treating therapist considers it would be unsafe to enrol or continue in the study, for any reason
